is here…and it’s time for the annual City of Marshfield Spring Clean!
The 9th annual CITYWIDE GARAGE SALE will be held next weekend (April 24-25); this event is held in cooperation with the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce. If you plan to hold a garage sale during this time and live inside the City limits, you will need to pick up your FREE garage sale permit at Marshfield City Hall.
The annual garage sale is being held in conjunction with the Marshfield Cherry Blossom Festival, scheduled for April 23-25. More information on this event can be found at www.cherryblossomfest.com. On this site you will find a festival schedule, along with information about the World War I Memorial Dedication at Rotary Park (Saturday, April 25, 11:00 a.m., Rotary Park behind City Hall), as well as the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Del Massey Park (Saturday, April 25, 1:45 p.m., Massey Park, 321 N. Buffalo St.).
Dumpsters will be available to City residents on May 1-3 and May 8-10 for residential clean-up.
Dumpsters will be available on Fridays (May 1 and May 8) from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Saturdays (May 2 and May 9) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays (May 3 and May 10) from 1 to 5 p.m. Dumpsters will be located at the Marshfield Maintenance Shed, 310 E. McVay. An attendant will be on duty at all times; photo identification will be required to be shown prior to dropping off at the dumpsters. No electronics, batteries, tires, hazardous materials, appliances, grass clippings, paint cans or roofing shingles will be allowed.
City residents are reminded that curbside limb pickup is available all through the year.
The City will pick up limbs – at your home – ALL year at no cost to you. To schedule a pickup, call Marshfield City Hall, 859-2352.
What’s NEW in City Parks? PERMANENT RECYCLING BINS!
Help up keep Marshfield GREEN by recycling at our new recycling bins when you’re using the parks.
Bins are located at Rotary Park (at the pavilion and at the concession stand), in front of the City Pool, at North Park, and by the bleachers at the Fairgrounds. We are now accepting #1 and #2 plastic bottles, aluminum cans and glass bottles. We ask that you remove and dispose of lids and remaining liquids before placing recyclables in the appropriate bin slots.
For household recycling, please use the Warren Beck Memorial Recycling Center in Marshfield.
The Center is operated by Webster County, and is located at 987 Prairie Lane (in the Industrial Park off of Highway OO, across from Web-Co Custom Industries). The center accepts glass, cardboard, #1 and #2 plastics, metal, aluminum, and paper. The Center is open on Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The service is free to the public.
