The Ella Dickey Literacy Award is presented annually in honor of Marshfield’s first librarian, Ella Dickey. Dickey served in this capacity for over 50 years. The awards are presented to six national authors who have contributed to the preservation of history during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The award was first presented in 2002 by the Webster County Literacy Council.
